Axarquia
Weather
The weather in Axarquia can be quite variable compared to the coastline
but generally speaking it's normally very warm and very sunny! The seasons
here are also different with a seemingly much longer summer than the
UK and a far shorter winter. Winter can be cold at times though, and
thus wood burners are fairly common place in many properties in the
area (though the thick walls of townhouses do help insulate properties
in the winter and keep them cool in the summer).
Temperature reach a peak in August,,
unsurprisingly, within a average 'temperature in the shade' in the
high Eighties (ºF). The coolest months are December, January
and February when temperatures peak between low to mid sixties (ºF).
Even on cooler days however, the sun still often shines and the region
enjoys generally in the region of 300 days or so of sunshine a year,
with a climate which is said to be the best in the whole of Europe!
It's even been said, that many people with ailments including arthritis
and diabetes have benefited from the dryer, warmer climate!
