Canillas de Aceituno

Nestled in the mountains below the Sierra Tejada National reserve, is the picturesque Andalucian village of Canillas de Aceituno, some 25 minutes from the coastal town of Torre de Mar.

The village has a typically Moorish layout with narrow, winding streets of whitewashed houses, decorated with bougainvillea, jasmine and geraniums.

The natural spring from the mountain attracts people from far away due to a belief that if the pure water is drunk, illness is prevented. Nearby is the spectacular canyon of the River Almachares where picnic and bbq areas are provided. The nearby Cave of La Fajara and the Rahíges Nature Reserve are also worth visiting.

The village boasts a new outdoor swimming pool with spectacular views.
